EEL. Super Luxury Electric Vehicle

Designer: Takbeom Heogh

Introduction

The EEL. Super Luxury Electric Vehicle, designed by Takbeom Heogh, is a concept car that combines the power and elegance of a supercar with the environmental benefits of an electric vehicle. With its unique features and luxurious design, this electric car sets itself apart from others in the market.

Heogh explains that his inspiration for the design came from his belief that a supercar should exude dignity, not just power. He also dreamed of stepping onto the red carpet after getting out of a supercar. With the increasing popularity of electric vehicles, he wanted to capture a sense of luxury in a future supercar.

One of the standout features of the EEL. Super Luxury Electric Vehicle is its smart glass windscreen. The windscreen appears opaque from the outside but allows the driver to see through it. It also displays driving and entertainment information, adding to the futuristic and high-tech feel of the car. Another unique aspect is the new type of door, which enhances the luxurious and unique experience for the driver. These design elements work in harmony with the smart glass windscreen, creating a cohesive and visually striking vehicle.

In terms of specifications, the EEL. Super Luxury Electric Vehicle has a wheelbase of 2,710 mm (106.7 in), a length of 4,462 mm (175.7 in), a width of 1,998 mm (78.7 in), and a height of 1,159 mm (45.6 in). It weighs 1,888 kg and is powered by an EV system.

Heogh's design process involved extensive research, particularly in the area of smart glass windscreen technology. While this material is not yet produced, Heogh explored concepts such as changeable opacity, flexible screens, and augmented reality technology. He also faced challenges in combining a powerful image with a luxurious feel, while still maintaining the distinct look of an electric vehicle.

The EEL. Super Luxury Electric Vehicle project began in May 2015 in Seoul and was completed in December 2015 in Toronto. Heogh created a hand clay model of the car at a 1/43 scale to further develop and refine his design.

This innovative concept car has received recognition for its exceptional design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Vehicle, Mobility, and Transportation Design category in 2016. This award honors designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and technical skill, contributing to improvements in quality of life.

With its combination of luxury, innovation, and environmental consciousness, the EEL. Super Luxury Electric Vehicle showcases the future of supercars and sets a new standard for electric vehicles in the automotive industry.
